Preventative Property Checks for Homes You Can't Always Be At
Scheduled visual property checks help identify visible changes, damage, security concerns, and maintenance needs while you are away. They are not formal home inspections or technical evaluations.
Live video walkthroughs during scheduled property checks and virtual meetings are available upon request. Arrange a walkthrough in advance; availability depends on scheduling, a safe visit, and an adequate internet or cellular connection. Live video is not continuous monitoring or a licensed home inspection and does not replace the visit report. Ask in your message and share your preferred times; HomeTame will confirm availability and send the meeting invitation. To reduce phishing risk, we only use meeting links provided by HomeTame and do not accept customer-supplied meeting links. If an invitation looks suspicious, contact info@hometame.com to verify it before opening.
Exterior and property observations
Depending on the property and service plan, a visit may include observations of:
Exterior condition, doors, accessible windows, fences, and gates
Visible weather damage, roof and gutter conditions observed from ground level
Driveways, walkways, landscaping, irrigation, pool, spa, and exterior lighting
Visible pests, accumulated mail or packages, and unusual activity
Interior observations
When included with the service, accessible interior areas may be checked for:
General condition, doors, windows, ceilings, and walls
Visible water intrusion, plumbing fixtures, and leaks
HVAC operation and thermostat settings
Interior temperature, lighting, unusual odors, and visible pest activity
Security and occupancy observations
During scheduled visits, an unattended property may be checked for visible signs of:
Break-ins or attempted entry, vandalism, or trespassing
Squatter activity, unexpected vehicles, or other unusual activity
Open or damaged doors and windows
Accumulated mail, packages, or flyers
Other conditions suggesting the property has been disturbed
Water and leak checks
Accessible areas may be visually checked for water concerns around sinks, toilets, faucets, ceilings, walls, floors, water heaters, and other accessible plumbing areas. A concern is documented so the homeowner can determine the next step.
HVAC and temperature checks
Depending on the service plan, a visit may check agreed thermostat settings and interior temperature, observe whether HVAC appears to be operating, and note visible or unusual conditions. HomeTame does not perform technical HVAC diagnosis or repair.
Storm and weather checks
Following significant weather, requested checks may look for visible conditions such as:
Wind damage, water intrusion, fallen branches, or exterior debris
Roof or exterior damage visible from ground level
Fence, gate, pool, or landscaping concerns
Other weather-related conditions in accessible areas
Your property report
Every scheduled check includes a digital report with photos and observations documenting the visit, including:
Property status and the areas checked
Completed checklist items and current photos
Observations and visible concerns
Potential issues requiring your attention
Recommended follow-up when appropriate
Who property inspections can help
Routine checks may suit second- and vacation-home owners, snowbirds, busy homeowners, frequent travelers, rental-property owners, estates, multiple properties, and homes vacant for an extended period.
How the service works
The service typically moves from choosing a plan or requested service, to recording property details and access instructions, completing the scheduled visual check, providing the agreed report, and coordinating a next step when requested and available.
Important service notice
HomeTame property checks are visual observations, not formal home inspections, licensed engineering, code, environmental, security, or other specialized evaluations, and not alarm monitoring. Visit scope depends on the agreed plan, property, location, and accessibility.
