How HomeTame works

Request. Confirm. Visit. Report. Respond.

HomeTame is a simple process: you tell us about your property, we confirm the service and instructions, we visit, you get a clear report, and we help coordinate what comes next if something needs attention.

  • Request availability with no payment
  • Photo updates and written observations
  • HomeTame confirms coverage for your address

  1. i

    Property Project Management

For already-vacant rental recovery, turnover, and multi-contractor repairs, HomeTame coordinates approved providers, authorized access, task tracking, photos, and owner updates. Scope and availability are confirmed before work begins.

  2. 1

    Request

Send a request with your property location and the kind of help you want. No payment is collected on the website.

    • Share the city and state of the property
    • Tell us whether it is a primary, second, vacation, rental, or vacant home
    • Describe what you want checked or coordinated
    • Email info@hometame.com if you prefer
  3. 2

    Confirm

After you submit, HomeTame follows up to confirm your address is in our service area and which service fits. We then agree on the details before any visit.

    • Service availability for your property address
    • The service or membership that fits, and how often we visit
    • Access instructions and who we may contact
    • How and when you want to receive reports
    • Payment arrangements, discussed directly with you
  4. 3

    Visit

HomeTame visits on the agreed schedule and follows your instructions for access and areas to check. Visits are visual checks of accessible areas, depending on your service.

    • Exterior, doors, windows, and gates
    • Visible signs of leaks, moisture, or water damage
    • Visible HVAC, plumbing, or appliance concerns
    • Signs of pests, storm damage, or unusual conditions
    • Security concerns or signs the property was disturbed
  5. 4

    Report

After each scheduled property check, you receive a digital report with photos and observations, including what was checked and any visible conditions that may need follow-up.

  6. 5

    Respond and coordinate

If something needs attention, HomeTame documents it and tells you or your designated contact. You decide what happens next. When you approve it, we can help coordinate a local vendor for the repair or service.

    • We identify and document a visible concern
    • We notify you or your designated contact
    • You decide whether to act
    • With your approval, we coordinate an appropriate provider
    • Vendors perform their own technical work and bill for it

    What HomeTame is not

HomeTame property checks are visual observations. They are not licensed home, engineering, or security inspections, alarm monitoring, or a guarantee against damage. We do not replace your plumber, electrician, HVAC company, or other licensed professional.

  8. i

    Direct, hands-on care

You deal directly with HomeTame, not a call center or a network of strangers. Home Watch plans can be customized to your property, and small jobs found during a visit can be handled by HomeTame itself, billed at time and materials and agreed with you first. Work that requires a licensed contractor is coordinated with a qualified licensed provider. Service is subject to address and availability.

    Not sure where to start?

The Annual Home Health Check is one preventive property check for $129/year. Home Watch plans start at $179/year for two scheduled checks, or $99/month for one scheduled check each month. Every scheduled check includes a digital report with photos and observations.

Common questions

How much does it cost to request service?

Requesting service is free and no payment is collected on the HomeTame website. We follow up to confirm your address, service, and pricing before any work is scheduled.

What happens after I submit a request?

HomeTame reviews your request, confirms your property is in our service area, and contacts you to agree on the service, visit schedule, access instructions, and how you want to receive reports.

Do I need to be away for HomeTame to help?

No. HomeTame serves second homes, vacation homes, rentals, and vacant properties, and also busy homeowners who want a local set of eyes on their primary home.

What do I receive after a scheduled check?

A digital report with photos and observations describing what was checked and any visible concerns. If something needs attention, we notify you or your designated contact.

What if you find a problem?

We document it and tell you. You decide what happens next, and with your approval we can help coordinate a local vendor.

Is a HomeTame visit a home inspection?

No. Visits are visual property checks, not licensed home, engineering, or security inspections.

Details and contact preferences

Live video walkthroughs during scheduled property checks and virtual meetings are available upon request. Arrange a walkthrough in advance; availability depends on scheduling, a safe visit, and an adequate internet or cellular connection. Live video is not continuous monitoring or a licensed home inspection and does not replace the visit report. Ask in your message and share your preferred times; HomeTame will confirm availability and send the meeting invitation. To reduce phishing risk, we only use meeting links provided by HomeTame and do not accept customer-supplied meeting links. If an invitation looks suspicious, contact info@hometame.com to verify it before opening.

For an immediate threat to life or safety, call 911 first. Do not include passwords, alarm or access codes, or payment-card details. See our Privacy Policy.
